Description

A delicious and easy-to-make spicy crunchy chili beef recipe with a sweet garlic sauce. This dish features crispy beef coated in a bold chili marinade, perfectly balanced with a sweet and savory garlic sauce.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 500g beef strips
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1-inch ginger, minced
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • 1 tsp chili flakes
  • 1 tsp cumin
  • 1 tsp coriander
  • 3 tbsp cornstarch
  • 2 tbsp flour
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1 tbsp sesame seeds (for garnish)
  • 2 green onions, sliced (for garnish)
  • Steamed white rice (for serving)

Instructions

  1. Slice the beef into thin strips against the grain for tenderness.
  2. In a bowl, mix cornstarch, flour, salt, pepper, and chili flakes. Coat the beef strips in this mixture.
  3. Heat oil in a wok or skillet over high heat. Fry the beef strips in batches until crispy, then remove and drain on paper towels.
  4. In the same pan, sauté garlic and ginger until fragrant.
  5. Add soy sauce, sugar, cumin, coriander, and water. Stir well and let it simmer for 1-2 minutes until slightly thickened.
  6. Return the crispy beef to the pan and toss to coat with the sauce.
  7. Serve over steamed rice and garnish with green onions and sesame seeds.

Notes

  • For extra crunch, double-fry the beef.
  • Adjust the chili flakes to control the spice level.
  • Use fresh garlic for a more aromatic sauce.
  • Pair with stir-fried vegetables or fried rice for a complete meal.
