Description
A classic appetizer featuring creamy, tangy filling made from eggs, mayonnaise, and Dijon mustard, perfect for any gathering.
Ingredients
Scale
- 6 large eggs 🥚
- 1/4 cup mayonnaise 🥫
- 1 tsp Dijon mustard 🌿
- 1 tsp white vinegar 🍶
- Salt and pepper to taste 🧂
- Paprika for garnish 🌶️
- Optional: chopped chives or dill for garnish 🌱
Instructions
- Place the eggs in a saucepan and cover with cold water.
- Bring the water to a boil, then cover and remove from heat, letting the eggs sit for 12 minutes.
- Transfer the eggs to an ice bath for 5 minutes to cool.
- Peel the eggs and slice them in half lengthwise, removing the yolks.
- In a mixing bowl, mash the yolks and mix with mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, white vinegar, salt, and pepper until smooth.
- Fill the egg whites with the yolk mixture using a spoon or piping bag.
- Sprinkle paprika and optional herbs on top before serving.
Notes
- Use slightly older eggs for easier peeling.
- Consider steaming the eggs for a tender white and easier peeling.
- Let ingredients sit at room temperature for better mixing.
- Don’t rush the cooling process to avoid a green ring around the yolk.
