Description

Beef Bao Buns are fluffy, steamed buns filled with a savory mixture of ground beef and aromatic spices, perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp ginger, minced
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp hoisin sauce
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/4 cup green onions, chopped
  • 12 bao buns

Instructions

  1. Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium heat and sauté the onion until translucent.
  2. Add minced garlic and ginger, cooking for an additional minute.
  3. Add ground beef, breaking it apart as it cooks until browned.
  4. Stir in soy sauce, hoisin sauce, sesame oil, sugar, and black pepper, cooking for another 2-3 minutes.
  5. Steam the bao buns according to package instructions or your recipe.
  6. Assemble the buns by filling them with the beef mixture and serve warm.

Notes

  • Use fresh ingredients for the best flavor.
  • Control the steaming process to avoid soggy buns.
  • Don’t rush the assembly; overfilling can make closing the buns difficult.
